What is actually in the game
Virus Overlord is the Early Access character that replaced Shinji in that slot when Shinji became free on 17 October 2026. The character is based on the Virus / Dark Lord figure from Animator vs. Animation, and the in-game ultimate name used on the roster is Fatal Corruption. A developer-adjacent note has also said the fighter is not simply The Dark Lord. Do not expect a one-to-one copy of a specific episode.
No public Robux price for the current Early Access pass was confirmed in the sources used here. One player said a previous Shinji purchase granted the new character. That is a single comment, not a published ownership rule.
Black, from Red vs Black, is only listed as the Early Access character planned after Virus Overlord becomes free. Black has no moveset to learn.
Passive and M1s
Virus Dissection poisons a target after you stop hitting them. The note says about 1 percent per tick, it does not itself take the last sliver of health, and it makes healing ineffective while it lasts. Corrupted Spikes later consumes that poison.
Single-blade M1s and dual-blade M1s are both listed at 6 percent. Single blades come out after the first Searing Shot or after Blazing Downfall. Dual blades come out after Searing Shot is used twice or after a Twinblade Step counter.
Base moves
| Move | Damage | Cooldown | Variant |
|---|---|---|---|
| Laser Rush | 12% first use, 15% second | 23s | Use twice. First cast floats forward and explodes with a laser. A hit drags the target. The second cast is a spinning cleave. |
| Blazing Downfall | 12% | 22s | Spin, grab debris, ignite it, stun. Hold jump for a flying punch. From behind, a grab throws them and a second press is an aimed slam. |
| Searing Shot | 6% then 9% | 22s | Aimable fireball, then a flying pierce if you cast again after the fireball hits. Hold jump flies forward and can fire during the flight. |
| Twinblade Step | Damage not listed | 23s | Counter. You dash back and cleave through the attacker. Using it as Blazing Downfall's fire starts spends both moves and replaces the fire with a cleave. |
An update-day showcase described the same ideas in plain language: a long-range shot you can use twice, a second move that dashes if you hold jump, a third move that cleaves on a second press, and a counter step. It also called R a combo extender. The move pages do not print a key map, so treat R as that player's observation, not as an official binding.
Ultimate and the holes
Fatal Corruption is listed at 40 percent with a 68-second form: a launch, a stab, an aerial cleave, and a diving finish. Cryptic Rushdown is listed at 43 percent and 17 seconds. Viral Cut is listed at 30 percent and 10 seconds, a backdash into an aerial slash projectile. Two further awakening moves are marked unknown. Finishers were not in the 17 October showcase.
Corrupted Spikes is the special. You leap toward the camera and fire a projectile. Damage scales with poison already on the target, and the hit clears that poison. With no poison it still pops the target up and deals no poison damage. It can be countered, but the launch still happens. It does not counter a move that has already started.
The wall combo is listed at 16 percent: knee, head kick, two punches, spinning kick.
How to practice it
Learn the three variant prompts before you memorize damage: Use Twice, Hold Jump, and Counter. Missing the second cast of Laser Rush or Searing Shot is a different move, not a whiff of the first one. Poison is a setup for Corrupted Spikes, not a finisher. Until the last two awakening moves and the finishers are published, do not copy a zero-to-death that claims to use them.
