How this board is judged

Each rank uses the same question: in a public lobby, how complete is the kit, can it break block, and does it have a real answer to a second attacker? Kratos is excluded because normal players cannot select it. Black is excluded because it is not playable. Damage percentages may predate the October 2026 hitbox work.

S tier

charactersJunComplete free kit. Glimpse of Power breaks block, the anti-team clone takes one attacker, and Piercing Tempest into One Inch Punch is the documented inescapable 100 percent confirm.

Player decision Pick Jun when you want the strongest published confirm and a real 1v2 tool. Missed Fang Dance and Glimpse of Power are punishable, so this is not the easiest kit.

A tier

charactersShinjiFree rushdown with multi-target moves and a Flashstep Fury reset. Only Lightning Flash is documented as a block bypass, so a holding blocker still checks the rest of the base kit.

Player decision Pick Shinji if you want mobility and group damage now that the character is free. Re-test old one-shots after the October 2026 hitbox pass. Do not rank the unpublished Volt Drive numbers.

charactersMartial LegendThe original free character. Straightforward moves, a counter that grants Flow State, and a 100 percent Draconic Honor that still deals 70 percent on block. Weaker dedicated anti-team tools than Jun.

Player decision Best first character and a strong 1v1 pick. Switch toward Jun or Shinji if the lobby is constantly 1v2.

B tier

charactersVirus OverlordEarly Access kit with real variant prompts and a poison setup. Fatal Corruption, Cryptic Rushdown, and Viral Cut are documented. Two awakening moves and the finishers are not.

Player decision Learn it if you own Early Access and like aimed, two-cast moves. Do not treat it as a finished meta pick until the missing ultimate slots exist.

Is this the official tier list?

No. Arts of Vermillion has not published a tier list. These letters are an editorial summary of documented tools.

Why is Virus Overlord not ranked higher?

The base kit is real, but two awakening moves are still unknown and finishers were not in the update-day showcase. A finished Jun or Shinji kit has more published confirms.
